Tallahassee International Airport Full-scale Emergency Exercise
On February 2023, the Tallahassee International Airport hosted a full scale emergency exercise with the Fire department, police, EMS and different health care providers to practice for a potential large scale emergency situation. Volunteers participated by acting as victims with different acuity levels. The emergency exercise focused on emergency triage, emergency staff organization, civilian mobilization and fire control. I was a volunteer who was "deceased" after a major aircraft incident. Makeup was applied to my arm and legs to make pretend wounds and we were triaged by emergency staff during the exercise.
Joanna Francis Living Well Organization
On May 2023, my TCC nursing class assisted a very interesting event hosted by the Joanna Francis Living Well organization. This organization helps patients who are fighting breast cancer. During this event we focused on raising awareness on breast cancer and the survivors shared their brave stories with the public. During this event I assisted guests and organized information tables. My classmates and I assisted the speakers during their presentations.
